
At a press conference for the 2025 World Internet Conference (WIC) Wuzhen Summit, Ren Xianliang, secretary-general of the WIC, announced that a seminar commemorating the 10th anniversary of the vision of building a community with a shared future in cyberspace will be held at this year's summit.
Ren highlighted that 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the proposal of this important vision, which has become a key concept guiding global cooperation in the digital domain. The upcoming seminar will bring together ministerial-level officials, leaders of international organizations, executives from leading internet enterprises, and renowned scholars from around the world.
Participants will review the theoretical achievements and practical experiences accumulated over the past decade and engage in in-depth discussions on the vision’s profound implications and its global significance in promoting the building of a community with a shared future in cyberspace.
The seminar aims to deepen international understanding and cooperation, further advancing the vision toward broader recognition and practice worldwide.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
